Internet Vacation...
On Vacation from the internet...or at least, it is very hard to come by.
I will resume posting when I return to Massachusetts.
Besides, Florida can make a 'body sun stupid. ;-)
I'm a very honest person. Perhaps too honest...

I wish I had a keen observation on the day.
Florida is hot.
The air is humid.
I am exhausted.
Good night!

I learned last night at Julie & Noah's reception, that if I my new job doesn't work out - I may be able to start a new business as the Wedding Dancer!
Apparently I'm good at sparking up the dance floor and getting people out moving and grooving. The funny thing is, I bet there is somebody out there that would actually pay for my services.

Congratulations, Julie & Noah!
Today, Julie & Noah will tie the knot in a traditional Jewish ceremony in Allentown, PA! Mazel Tov!
Yesterday, when we checked into our hotel, we were given this lovely bag of PA goodies from the bride and groom, along with a sweet letter thanking us for traveling so far to join them on their special day. Awwww...
Last night, we joined the couple for a superb dinner at Bolete where they toasted us - their friends and families! It was a really nice touch.
With all these weddings to attend and my own to plan...I'm taking notes. ;-) Obviously, we can't do everything every bride and groom does, but we can steal some of our favorite ideas.

Here are a few pics of the Lemon Tea Sugar Scrub that I made and divided into jars as add-on gifts for our many soon-to-be newlywed friends. In addition to monetary gifts, I thought it'd be nice to have a little something handmade. Each couple got their own card and jar design. I tried to match the couples' color theme where I could (i.e. if I had the supplies in my bins of crafty goods).

Into the future
There never seems to be enough time for all I want to do. And then suddenly I find days to just sit on my bum and eat popcorn and watch old shows. Well - TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY!
Today I have been non-stop since I woke up and am not even close to finishing everything I need to get done before I leave on two back-to-back out of town trips!
I have nearly completed my craft projects, however. Little wedding gifties to go along with cash-a-roo. Hopefully I can share pictures soon. To give you a little something to look forward to...they are jars of homemade Lemon Tea Sugar Scrub. I tried it out for myself first, of course, and my skin is SO SOFT! I don't even need to use lotion anymore. Only down side is that it is impracticably messy. Well, at least it's meant for shower use! AND it's all natural, so no weird chemicals being rubbed deep into your skin.
Off to finalize the crafts and pack the last of the luggage!

Labels: crafts, dear diary, to my health, travel
First, let me apologize to myself for failing to post yesterday. I set a little reminder e-mail for myself to nudge me everyday at 5pm. Alas, I was not on the computer all night last night. In fact, I felt a bit like I was run over...that pre-flu feeling all heavy and exhausted. I went to bed early and had one of those "Oh no!" moments, but decided my health was more important.
So today I write two posts.
I realize the small pool of people who may (or may not) read my blog already know all this - but let's catch up anyway, shall we?

It's amazing to me how many dresses I can own and still not have a dress in my closet that is appropriate for all weddings.
Guys, you may not understand this, because for you it's pants, button-down, tie - add jacket for more formal occasions, shine those shoes and if it's really fancy rent yourself a tux.
It's never that easy for a lady. There are all kinds of subtleties in attire. There's cut (oh, too low, skirts too high, too long, too cutesy), color (don't wear red, especially not white, it depends on the season), style (even the material can rat you out depending on the wedding) and not to mention accessories (don't get me started)!
In times like these, it's good to have fashion-forward friends.
It's also good to simply not care and don't wear anything with holes and put on your best SMILE.

It's Spring and I got a new duvet cover for the new season.
See the light pouring in from the upper right corner? Andy says that's the first time that window has been opened. You know, I believe he's right.

I've been looking for a new carry on suitcase.
I had a beautiful dark green guy for many many years and many many vacations. But alas, he split at the seams and on my last trip to Florida, I traded with my parents for a larger (non-carry on) suitcase that also had it's share of flaws.
When my friend came to visit and was returning with more than she came with, I gave her the larger slightly flawed suitcase.
I have three weekends worth of weddings and traveling ahead and was equipped with nothing but a couple of backpacks to carry my things.
I searched online and in stores for luggage, but everything I found was more expensive than I wanted to pay.
Then I found this "multi-bird" suitcase and all bets were off. I didn't care what the price! $199... sure, I'll do it!
Then I got a reality check called Andy and the search was back to square one... Apparently, contrary to my own beliefs - bird graphics do not equal "spare no expense". Hm.
Well, there are other ways to find a suitcase you love - wait until the week before traveling, run to the store and pick up the cheapest bargain you can find in the limited time and patience you have left. That's what I did and now own a 5-piece Purple Hampton luggage set. It's 4 pieces more than I needed, but at least now I'm ready to roll.
I suppose I can always throw on a few bird decals of my own.

I keep telling myself to get back into the habit of blogging. Apparently I'm not much for listening to myself.
But here I am, making an effort. Finally.
I'm going to try a new approach and write once a day (even just a line). My hope is that it will become more habit than chore. More inspiration than expectation. There will be fun anecdotes amongst the laundry list of other information.
This blog began as and has always been an exercise in writing. The next exercise is discipline.
Wish me luck...
(HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!)
